Terms of sale
Last updated: 9 September 2026
What you get when you buy photographs here, what you can do with them, and what happens if something goes wrong.
Who you are buying from
Photographs on this site are sold by Lapland Today. Questions about an order go to info@laplandtoday.com.
These terms apply to every purchase made here. Buying a photograph means you accept them.
What you are buying
You are buying digital photograph files taken during your tour or activity: a high-resolution copy of each photograph you select, delivered as a download. Nothing physical is shipped.
The photographs shown in the gallery carry a visible watermark. The files you receive after paying do not.
Every photograph is processed automatically after the tour: exposure and colour are adjusted for snow and low light, and the file is re-encoded, which removes the camera’s metadata. The file you receive is that processed version, at full resolution.
Prices and payment
Prices are shown in euros and include VAT where it applies. The price depends on how many photographs you select, and any discount in effect is shown before you pay.
Payment is handled by Stripe, a licensed payment provider. Your card details are entered on their page and never reach us. We see whether the payment succeeded, the payment method used, the amount, and the reason if a card is refused.
If a card is refused, nothing is charged and no order exists. You can try again on the same payment page, with the same or another card.
The price you see when you confirm the purchase is the price charged. If a price is displayed incorrectly through an error on our side, we will tell you before taking payment, or refund you if it has already been taken.
Delivery
Once payment is confirmed, you receive an email with a link to a page holding exactly the photographs you bought. You can download them one at a time or all together.
That link works until the album is deleted, twelve hours after the tour by default; the page and the email both give the exact date and time. Because that window is short, download your photographs as soon as the link arrives. If it expires, or the email never arrives, write to info@laplandtoday.com and we will send a new one. Check the spam folder first.
Delivery is normally immediate. If something goes wrong on our side and you have been charged without receiving your photographs, we will fix it or refund you in full.
Your right of withdrawal
Under EU consumer law you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance purchase. Digital content delivered immediately is an exception: the right is lost once delivery begins, provided you agreed to that at the time of purchase.
By confirming your purchase you ask for immediate delivery and acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal once the download link is issued.
This does not affect your rights if something is wrong with what you received. If a file is corrupt, does not open, or is not the photograph you selected, tell us and we will replace it or refund you.
What you may do with the photographs
The photographs are yours to use personally: print them, keep them, share them with friends and family, post them on your own social media.
You do not receive the copyright, which stays with us. That means you may not sell them, licence them to anyone else, or use them to advertise a business without our written permission.
Other people in your photographs
A tour photograph often includes other guests. Buying it does not give you any right over their image. Please be considerate about publishing photographs in which strangers are recognisable.
If you appear in a photograph and want it removed from the site, use the Report button in the album or write to info@laplandtoday.com and we will delete it, whether or not you bought anything.
How long the photographs stay available
Tour albums are deleted automatically once their retention period ends, twelve hours after the tour by default. This applies to photographs that have been purchased as well.
Your download page tells you the exact date and time, and so does your confirmation email. Download your photographs before then and keep your own copy: we are not a backup service, and once an album is deleted the files cannot be recovered.
If your download link is still valid but the photographs have already been deleted, the page will say so rather than fail silently.
A photograph can also be removed before then if a person in it asks us to, which we take seriously. If that happens to a photograph you bought and had not yet downloaded, write to us and we will refund it.
The access code
Your guide gives the group a code that opens the tour album. It is meant for the people who were on that tour. Anyone with the code, the date and the start time can see the watermarked previews, so do not post it publicly.
Reporting a photograph
Anyone who has opened an album can report it, or particular photographs in it, from the gallery: because they appear in it and do not want to, because a child is shown, because it is the wrong tour, or for any other reason. We look at every report, remove what needs removing, and record what was decided. If you leave an email address we will tell you the outcome.
If something goes wrong
Write to info@laplandtoday.com first — most problems are a download link that expired or an email that went to spam, and both are quick to fix.
These terms are governed by Finnish law. As a consumer you can also take a dispute to the Finnish Consumer Disputes Board (kuluttajariita.fi), after first contacting the Consumer Advisory Service. The European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform is no longer an option: it was shut down on 20 July 2025 and traders are no longer required to link to it.
